I went to a post-apocalyptic desert party with my drummer for a week -- many know it as Burning Man. However, it is my New Year. I spent a week where gifting replaced commerce, reality abandoned logic, and experience outweighed discomfort. This song explains my interactions with a few of my favorite art installations there -- an interactive zoetrope (monkey man, Harold Moon), and a massive wooden oil derrick with human statues made of woven medal rope bowing down to it in praise. This is also the song that helped me coin my music as "desert rock." - (via www.daytrotter.com)
